How to prepare a Sri Lankan style pan fried fish – Using tuna, seer or sailfish

This is one of the easiest and tastiest methods to prepare fried fish pieces at home using Sri Lankan style. You can use Tuna, Seer fish, Sailfish or any fish type that can be cut in to small cubes.

Required Ingredients

Tuna Fish ( or Seer or Sailfish ) – 1 KG ( Cut in to Cubes )
Garlic cloves – 2 ( chopped )

Black Pepper powder – 2 teaspoon
Turmeric powder – ½ teaspoon
Salt – ½ a teaspoon ( or as you need )

Coconut oil or vegetable oil – 3-4 tablespoons

Tomato sauce- 2 tablespoons

Curry leaves – 2 to 3

Instructions

1) Take the fish and cut it into small cubes. Now, add black pepper powder, turmeric powder and salt. Mix well and let them marinate for 10-20 minutes.

2) Then heat coconut oil in a saucepan. Add garlic, and curry leaves. Sauté for a 2-3 minutes.  ( Stir frequently to avoid burning ).

3) Next add the marinated fish cubes, mix, and cook ( Cover the pan with a lid ) until the cubes turn slightly golden brown. ( Stir frequently to avoid burning ).

4) Now open the lid and add tomato sauce. Mix and cook for 1 to 2 minutes
